What is Junior Achievement?

Junior Achievement inspires and prepares young people to succeed in a global economy.

Kindergarten-high school students need to see the value of their education. They ask questions like: Why do I need to go to school? What difference will a high school diploma really make? Will classroom learning ever be applied outside of school? What is the point of math anyway?

Junior Achievement has the answers to those questions. Grade specific programming is presented by community volunteers who teach students about economics, entrepreneurship, personal finance, workforce readiness, and other skills that students need to succeed in the real world. JA seeks to prepare our young people for the world of work, inspiring our future leaders and igniting a passion for excellence.

Headlines & Highlights

Attention High School Juniors and Seniors:

Do you have what it takes to be a Bank of America Student Leader? If you are a student with a passion for improving your community, Bank of America would like to help you turn that passion into action. Bank of America is looking for leaders who are high school juniors and seniors in the US.

The Student Leaders selected from Middle Tennessee will participate in:

  • An eight-week paid internship at a Oasis Center in Nashville.
  • A week-long Student Leadership Summit in Washington, DC (July) to gain valuable civic, social and business leadership skills (all expenses paid as part of the Student Leaders Program)
