Financial literacy, workforce readiness; phrases used by educators, politicians and society as they assess the key factors necessary for young people to be successful in the global economy. Here in Middle Tennessee, the current educational system, stretched beyond its resources, is struggling to perpare students adequately and make the connection bewteen academic studies and success in life post graduation.

Junior Achievement of Middle Tennessee provides solutions. As an organization whose core mission is to inspire and prepare students to dream about thier future, develop relevant skills and pursue attainable goals, we work with volunteers and educators to teach lessons that will impact young people for their entire lives. Working with the educaional system, we provide classroom based curriculum and experiential learning opportunities, shown to meet the needs of students, the future leaders and workers of our country. Last year alone, 41,000 students in Middle Tennessee were impacted by the porgrams offered with the goal of reaching 60,000 by 2011, and continuing to grow beyond that.

JA's Mission
To inspire and prepre young people to succeed in a global economy.

Through your support, the JA Endowment Fund will ensure the success of three major areas:
  • It would support the day-to-day operating of JA BizTown, our experientail capstone program. With a current budget of over $500,000, only 20% is covered by the schools who participate; the balance is dependent on support from individuals and businesses. The income from the fund would support the program through lean times, when fundraising opportunities are less plentiful.
  • The income from the Endowment Fund would give stability to Junior Achievement, allowing growth in the number of students reached by programs. With this core income, new opportunities and programs can be developed to impact the young people of Middle Tennessee
  • The fund would guarantee the sustainability of JA of Middle Tennessee, providing long term financial support. In turn, this ensures that all donations - past, present, or future - continue to serve the mission of the organization.
