Students will visit a company for 3-4 hours in the morning and have lunch with their shadow hosts before returning to the school. Junior Achievment provides a guidebook to participating organizations to help facilitate and structure the day. Students prepare for the day with some in-class activities and choose "career clusters".
The goal is allowing students to see employees doing their job. We request the hosts to create some tasks for the students so that they can really experience working at each organization.
National partnerships with AT&T and a local partnership with The Academies of Nashville, an initiative of Metro Nashville Public Schools make the JA Job Shadow program a reality in Middle Tennessee.
